Audio Tape Library:
The Houston Genealogical Forum currently has over 700 audio-tape cassettes which are available for members in good standing to check out on a monthly basis.  Each individual member may check out a maximum of 3 audio-tapes per month.  Privileges may be revoked and fines implemented if audio-tapes are not returned the next meeting month per check out rules and regulations.  Any lost audio-tape will be charged a nominal replacement fee.

This link to the audio-tapes brings up a PDF file listing titles, authors and topic for ease of use in reserving the audio-tape you select.  Use the '+' key zoom and increase size or use the drop down % box to zoom page.

The 'more info' button lists all audio tapes alphabetically by title only if you would like to browse in that fashion to make your audio tape selection.

Newsletters:
In order to disseminate information to the membership on a timely basis, The Bulletin, the quarterly newsletter of the Houston Genealogical Forum, was discontinued as of  December 2002.  The web site and e-mail list replace the newsletter as the form of communication to the membership.  On an as needed basis, the corresponding secretary will disseminate special information to those members without e-mail.  The Genealine 713-968-9750 is available to all for leaving voice mail questions regarding HGF events, etc.

Publications:
The Houston Genealogical Forum publishes a quarterly digest  - entitled The Genealogical Record which is mailed twice a year - Fall Issue (September thru December) and Spring Issue ( March thru June).

The Genealogical Record contains historical and genealogical information specifically regarding Houston, Harris County, and Texas but also other information relating to the immigration to Texas.  The publication also includes general and specific research tips for all levels of those engaged in family history research and featured articles regarding technology, book reviews and other sources valuable to genealogists.  To view the electronic versions of The Genealogical Record click on the following link.  [to view the issues click here]
