The Houston Genealogical Forum (HGF) is a non-profit Texas corporation founded in 1958. Our extensive membership is made up of Houston and surrounding area residents but a number of our members are located throughout the United States.

HGF Web site content is developed by HGF members. Information about various research facilities in Houston; vital records history and acquisition information; area cemeteries, churches and newspapers; and various databases for researching Houston ancestors are being gathered and compiled for use by site visitors. Additionally, microfilm information about Houston and Harris County records available through any LDS Family History Center in the world will be provided either in itemized form, or through links directly to the LDS Library Catalog microfilm notes.  As research projects are completed by our volunteer members, our Web site will be updated with the latest available information.

The best explanation of HGF's goals can be found within Article II of the original by-laws, repeated as follows. . .
