HOUSTON GENEALOGICAL FORUM
HGF-HBU BIBLE TRANSCRIPTION PROJECT
Houston Baptist University – Dunham Bible Museum
Gloria LaVonne Wright Russell, Project Manager
In order to preserve the family history records found within the Bible Collection at the Dunham Bible Museum at Houston Baptist University, HGF, under the direction of Gloria LaVonne Wright Russell, agreed to undertake preservation of the family history data from within Bibles of the museum. The purpose of the project is to provide the genealogical community the family history images and information found within those Bibles.
The Project Photographers were: Loretta Pair Thompson (LTP) and Hank Wenzler (HW), Bible scans by Diana Severance (DS). The transcription of the Bible digital images were done by HGF member volunteers.
If interested, the following document explains the guidelines each transcriber followed on the project:

Each of the Bible numbers below corresponds to the catalog number from the Museum's own catalog at the time of the project undertaking. Any questions pertaining to the actual Bible itself should be directed to the Bible Museum itself as the Houston Genealogical Forum does not have the actual Bible. The Houston Genealogical Forum's interest in the collection follows its goals and purpose of preserving family and historical data.
Each Bible had a minimum of two transcribers (sometimes three) using the multiple image files of pages photographed from the Bibles at the Museum inputting the data found into an Excel spreadsheet. HGF does not authenticate the work of the transcsribers nor combine them. We hope that you are one of the lucky ones to find family information; however, at a minimum, you will find all of the data interesting. Be sure to look at all the transcriptions that apply to each Bible.
