HGF Needs a Little Help from its Friends
Every spring, along with Houston showers, a new crop of HGF officers and committee chairs appears ready to refresh HGF with new ideas and renewed energy. This year's Program committee is recruiting a group of great speakers but we need a few more folks to help us make the meetings the best they can be.
Lead positions which need to be filled include:
You tell us that you come to our meetings for genealogical education but we know it's really for the cookies and cakes. For the cookies to continue, a new Refreshments chair is needed, someone to coordinate all the snacks brought by our great cooks and to make sure that the snack tables are set and that the coffee is fresh. For more information, contact Ginny at email@example.com.
As genealogists, we understand the importance of records. For HGF, some of the most important records are the minutes of the monthly general and board meetings. The minutes are prepared by the Recording Secretary to chronicle the meetings and help ensure that the HGF board and members have a common understanding of decisions made by the board and voted on by the members. For more information, please contact Barbara at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This group handles arrangements for programs and speakers for the monthly meetings of the Forum. Please contact Monica at email@example.com
This Committee supports and enhances the Forum's website and trains other Forum members in its use. Please contact Walter at firstname.lastname@example.org
Like Travis, we need all the help we can muster to keep things rolling as smoothly in our next 60 years as we have in our first 60. Step up and help wherever you can!
