HGF Authors Publish Three Articles in Stirpes
Articles by Jessica Collins, Doug Greenhill, and the HGF group researching 1920 women voters including Monica Andersen, Rae Bryant, Ginny Douglas, Mary Hollis, and Barbara Richards, have been published in the March issue of Stirpes, the quarterly publication of the Texas Genealogical Society. The Stirpes editors also featured Monica, Rae,Ginny, Mary, and Barbara in the March issue's "Volunteer Spotlight" because of their outstanding research effort on the first women voters in Texas elections. For more and a link to a free preview issue of Stirpes, please see HGF authors.
HGF Responds to the Covid-19 Virus
We hope that each of you is taking the necessary precautions to stay healthy and well during this difficult time. HGF will carry on by offering you live on-line presentations by leading genealogists and opportunities to interact with your fellow HGF members. These include the April webinar with Nancy Loe, a special online DIG meeting with Dana Leeds in April, and the May webinar on Scots-Irish Research with Amanda Epperson. We may also create one or more Facebook groups where HGF members could pose questions and share answers about genealogy and sponsor online meetings on special topics.
We'd also like to remind HGF members that you can find speaker handouts for meetings you might have missed by logging into the website, going to Member Resources and then Speaker Handouts. There are also recordings of the webinars with Nancy Loe and Dana Leeds for those of you who might have missed one of them.
We’re very interested in how you think HGF could better serve you during this time so let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While we hope not, HGF recognizes that this virus or other medical problems may affect some of our members. Please let our Corresponding Secretary, Keith Boone, know if you or members you know have become ill so that we can offer our wishes for a speedy recovery. You can contact Keith at email@example.com or 832-723-8187 with this information.
